The ending of Saltburn left me confused – how exactly did Sir James die?

I just finished watching Saltburn and I’m a bit unclear on the details surrounding Sir James’ death. The film jumps forward in time and mentions his passing from illness, but it doesn’t say what kind of illness. Were there any hints earlier in the movie that foreshadowed his health problems?
